Hand Sewn Table Runner Patchwork Workshop

Over a couple of evenings and with some home work you will make a table runner by hand with the wonderful Mary from Patchwork Dreamer.

In the first lesson on Thursday 31st March 2022, we will organise your fabrics, learn to make the templates, start to cut out and sew the units together.

On the second evening on Friday 22nd April 2022, we will look at layering and hand quilting your table runner as well as how to bind and finish.

This is perfect for those new to patchwork and quilting. Both dates are included in the £35 cost.

Mary will talk you through and show you every step of the way, including making your own templates and sewing half square triangles (HST). A pattern will be provided so you can follow the layout and if you would like to make it longer that is no problem, just keep going. The pattern can also be used to make matching place mats.

You will need to bring the following with you:

Eight fat or long quarters four light and four dark.
Thread to match
Needle and pins
Fabric scissors
Paper scissors
Ruler
Inch graph paper
Cardboard (cereal packet is perfect)
Glue stick (pritt stick)
Pencil Marking tool for the fabric (HB pencil and or a white water colour pencil usually do the job)
Travel Iron and pressing pad. (there will be a limited amount of these available to use on the day)
