For our first local artist spotlight, we would like to introduce Sue Martin. Sue has been frequenting craft fairs across Cornwall for many years. With the reduction of these due to COVID, we jumped at the chance to offer Sue an outlet for her lovely products.
“I’m a lady approaching an age when I should be slowing down, but that doesn’t seem to be happening!
I’m in love all things art and crafty. Before Coronavirus appeared on the scene I was regularly exhibiting paintings and crafts with Looe Arts and Crafts Society.
I also attended lots of craft fairs as I’m a prolific maker of jewellery, polymer clay beads, brooches, bracelets and buttons.
In addition to all of that, I also paint in watercolours, pastels and acrylics. Oh I also knit and crochet a few cactus too!!”
At Knit Happens, we love Sue Martin and all of the wonderful creations and are delighted to be working with her. We cannot get enough of her designs and neither can our customers. Both the cacti and the buttons have been hugely successful so far. There is no doubt her hats are going to be just as popular!
The cacti come in five different sizes and numerous different styles. They make wonderful pin cushions or simply use them decoratively.
The buttons are all handmade using polymer clay and also come in a wide range of colours and styles. They make the perfect unique addition to any design!
Sues most recent additions to the store are her beautiful knitting hats, again offered in a range of styles, sizes and colours. There is something for everyone, especially now the weather is changing and those cold nights are drawing in.
You can currently find a huge selection of her beautiful buttons and hats, along with a veritable desert of crocheted cacti at our store in Bodmin. Pop in and see for yourselves how amazing Sue’s creations are. We are sure you will not be disappointed!
